The La Porte Hospital Foundation is holding its 22nd annual Healthcare Scholarship Golf Tournament Thursday, June 17, at Briar Leaf Golf Club, 3233 N. Indiana 39, LaPorte.
Proceeds help fund health care scholarships and philanthropic selections based on community need through the LaPorte Hospital Foundation. Over the past 21 years, 193 local students have been awarded more than $378,000, many of which return to work for LaPorte Regional Health System.
The event includes 18 holes of golf with cart, player favors, lunch, three beverage carts, post-tournament dinner, tournament awards, prize drawing and silent auction. Golf celebrity and entertainer Peter Longo, the world’s No. 1 trick shot artist, will perform at 11:30 a.m.
Participants may attempt the hole-in-one contest. Prizes are sponsored by LaPorte Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Inc., including a 2010 Jeep Wrangler, and Sauers Buick, Pontiac, Cadillac and GMC Truck, including a 2010 Buick LaCrosse. Participants may also bid on one of the many auction prizes, including tickets to Indianapolis Colts home games, a condo rental in Florida, Chicago Cubs tickets and golf packages.
Registration and lunch begins at 10:30 a.m. with a shotgun start at noon. Dinner and celebration, including a cash bar, begins at 5:30 p.m.
