LAPORTE – Indiana University Health has released a new free smartphone application that makes adding healthier habits to your daily routine easy. The “My Healthy Habits” smartphone app is an American Heart Association/Listen to Your Heart initiative supported by IU Health

The app is loaded with features to turn positive behaviors into daily habits. Some examples include eating more fruits and vegetables, being more active and getting more sleep.

Each day for three weeks, the app will push a notification to your phone, reminding you to do your healthy habit. Three weeks is the amount of time it generally takes people to establish a habit as part of their natural routine. At the end of 21 days, the app asks how you did. If you did well, you can choose to go on to the next healthy habit. Or you can give yourself more time with the habit you’re trying to establish.
