The performance has repeated drawn raves from audience members and the media alike as it unites an evolving group of ballet dancers from many of the companies of the world to perform excerpts of classical and contemporary ballets both revered and unknown. This year’s Evening with the Stars will have a number of special moments including what is likely the final Indianapolis performance of American Ballet Theatre ballerina Paloma Herrera who stunned her fans this past summer announcing her retirement in 2015. “Paloma Herrera joined American Ballet Theatre when she was 15 years old and by 19, was a principal dancer and world star. We are grateful to have her return to the Evening with the Stars for a farewell performance” said performance director Joinda Menendez.
