The 21st Heartland Film Festival is going on here in Indy till Saturday, October 27th. In attending this year’s awards Gala this past weekend, I was able to meet and talk with several filmmakers Including the film award recipients:
Director, Mohamed Diab, for Cairo 678, won the $100,000 top prize, in the narrative feature category; Rising From Ashes, directed by T.C. Johnstone, received the $25,000 award for Best Documentary and Head Over Heals, directed by Timothy Reckart, received the $10,000 Vision Award for Best Short Film.
There are 119 films being screened this week at AMC Castleton And AMC Traders Point. For more information on show times and tickets, go to HeartlandFilmFestival.org.
