GARY – The city of Gary will do more to promote Allegiant Airlines passenger service. The Gary/Chicago International Airport Authority voted to spend $30,000 to pay for a consultant to improve marketing efforts for flights between Gary and Orlando, Fla.
Previously, the city agreed to a $75,000 marketing effort.
Since Allegiant began flying out of Gary in February, it has been able to fill seats on its airlines. The company said it plans to continue flying to Florida but doesn’t plan to expand service any time soon.
