System representatives recently dedicated its newest outpatient retail pharmacy store at Franciscan Health Crown Point. It is located on the hospital’s first floor next to the cafeteria and is open weekdays from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The Crown Point pharmacy is the sixth for Franciscan Health, joining facilities in Hammond, Michigan City, Olympia Fields, Lafayette and Indianapolis.

Outpatient Pharmacy Manager William Sahy said the pharmacy is open to the public and plays an important role for patients with a “med to bed” service. Patients can have their discharge prescriptions filled, processed through their insurance, and delivered.

“We bring it all directly to bedside so they never have to leave their room to get their medications, and when they’re ready to be discharged, they can just go straight home,” he said.

Franciscan Health employees insured through Franciscan will pay their lowest copays when they fill their prescriptions at the hospital pharmacy.

“We look forward to building and fostering relationships with all patients, both employees and members of the community,” Sahy said. “We will work collaboratively to provide both service excellence and thoughtful compassionate care.”
