MUNSTER – For the second year in a row, Community Hospital’s cardiac program has been named among Healthgrades America’s 100 Best Hospitals for Cardiac Care and Cardiac Surgery. The rankings are in “American Hospital Quality Outcomes 2013: Healthgrades Report to the Nation.”

In the report, Community Hospital was rated best hospital in Northwest Indiana for overall cardiac services, including cardiology and heart surgery, stroke care, overall neurosciences services, neurosurgery and vascular surgery. It also is rated among the top 10 percent of such hospitals in the nation.

“Cardiovascular disease is the number one killer of Americans today,” said CEO Donald Fesko. “With our mission to improve the health of the residents and neighborhoods we serve, we’re doing everything we can do to change that statistic and have taken the lead in addressing heart disease.”
