MUNSTER – Citizens Financial Bank has completed a month of “spring cleaning” on behalf of homeless and at-risk women and children of Sojourner Truth House in Gary.

The effort of the bank and its 22 branches resulted in 72 boxes of clothing and scores of household items and furniture.

“Citizens is proud to participate in the spring cleaning event. Citizens’ employees continually share with those in need,” said Thomas F. Prisby, chairman and CEO. “The Citizens’ family is deeply committed to the communities it serves. That commitment is the selfless effort on the part of our employees to be active in their communities and to enhance the quality of life in our neighborhoods.”

Sojouner Truth House is a ministry sponsored by the Poor Handmaids of Jesus Christ and serves about 1,200 women and children each month by providing food and clothing, counseling, life-skills training, resource referrals and support into permanent housing.
