HAMMOND – The South Shore Convention and Visitors Authority will hold a theme writing contest that could result in valuable prizes.
The theme, “What I Want for Christmas,” is part of the South Shore CVA’s “A Christmas Story” Comes Home holiday event. The theme is modeled after Ralphie’s Christmas theme that he wrote for his teacher, Miss Shields.
Entries can be dropped off at the Indiana Welcome Center at 7770 Corinne Drive, Hammond, or mailed. Deadline is Nov. 30. Age categories are 9 and younger, 10 to 18 years old and 19 and older.
Entries must include a name, address, age category and telephone number. They must be more than 20 words and not exceed 250. Winners in each category will win a prize from $50 to $150.
