LONDON – BP has announced third quarter profits of $4.9 billion, up from $1.8 billion one year ago. Revenue was up 31 percent to $97.6 billion.
The company, which owns a refinery in Whiting, said he plans to dispose of $45 billion in assets to help pay for damage from the Deepwater Horizon drilling rig disaster in 2010.
During the meeting BP announced that the Whiting Refinery will undergo a month of planned work during the fourth quarter. The refinery produces 405,000 barrels of oil a day.
Work at the refinery will impact half of its production.
