EAST CHICAGO – Steelmaker ArcelorMittal has announced that it is cutting the hours of some workers at its bar mill in East Chicago.
Some 155 workers at Indiana Harbor Long Carbon will operate on a 32-hour work week for the foreseeable future. The reduction affects workers who have been with the company for less than three years.
Indiana Harbor Long Carbon has 300 employees. Many of the products manufactured by the mill are used in the automotive industry.
