LA PORTE – Tickets are on sale now for the 22nd Annual Holiday at the Pops Concert, which will be held on December 10, 2016 at the La Porte Civic Auditorium. Concerts attendees are warmed by the traditional hometown feel of this event and the joy that it brings to families as a start to the holiday season.
All of the proceeds benefit the La Porte Hospital Foundation (transitioning to the Healthcare Foundation of La Porte) Children’s Fund. This fund supports health and wellness programs including the Lil’ F.I.S.H. Club Program, the Get Fit Parks Rx Program and other children-focused initiatives.

“Our committee has enjoyed planning for this year's event,” said Deb Varnak, Event Chairperson. “It is always difficult to top the prior year’s show, but this program once again promises to deliver new and exciting performances along with some long-time favorites.”

Composer Rick DeJonge is creating a new score “Ho Ho, Ho Ho” specifically for Charles Steck and the North American Brass Company to perform. This will be the debut performance of this newly composed song and a performance that music lovers will definitely not want to miss.

Maddi Reese Ames, winner of the youth division of the 2016 Hoosier Star competition, will also be one of the special guest artists at the event. She is a student at Westville Elementary School and has acted in roles at the Chicago Street Theatre and the Memorial Opera House.

The concert features the La Porte County Symphony Orchestra, directed by Philip Bauman. Other special guest artists include Kyrie Anderson, Cripple Creek, Jenevieve Hayes, Tim King and the LCSO Children’s Choir.

“With the proceeds going to our Children's Fund, we look forward to the LCSO Children's Choir gracing our stage once again!” said Varnak.

Tickets are on sale now at www.holidaypopslaporte.org, and the cost is $10 for adults and $5 for children. Doors open at 6 pm on the day of the event, and the concert will begin at 7 pm (all time CST). Buy your tickets now to plan ahead for this great holiday event!
