DYER – Amtrak service on the Hoosier State, which stops in Dyer four times a week, could end in 2013 if Amtrak and state transportation officials can’t reach an agreement on a funding subsidy.

The Hoosier State runs between Chicago and Indianapolis. In 201, 2,439 people got on or off an Amtrak train in Dyer.

The potential shutdown does not impact The Cardinal, which runs through Dyer three days a week from Chicago to Indianapolis and Washington, D.C.
