HDW joins forces with Office Interiors

Rita Bacevich, HDW Commercial Interiors' former president, says a merger with Office Interiors is a “game changer” for her clients.

The Merrillville-based commercial design and furniture company now is HDW, an Office Interiors Co.

Bacevich said a long-standing relationship with Office Interiors President Rob Meyers led to the partnership.

“I have developed a great relationship over the years based on similar business models and on challenges we’ve both seen in the industry,” Bacevich said. “One of the driving forces of the alliance is that it allows HDW to offer expanded product lines, added services and to glean additional discounts based on combined volume pricing.”

Meyers took over leadership of Office Interiors Co. in 2014. His mom, Maria Slager, founded the Granger-based company in 1982.

“This is a natural progression for our companies and the communities we serve,” Meyers said in a press release. “We both place client values at the core of our work, making this union a perfect match.”

Bacevich was appointed Office Interiors' director of strategic initiatives for Northwest Indiana. She said clients can expect the same people on the Merrillville team to continue serving their needs.

HDW Commercial Interiors was founded in 1991.
