The Portage-based Northwest Indiana Forum recently hosted events featuring Dr. Jennifer McCormick and U.S. Senator Mike Braun, Indiana gubernatorial candidates.
The events provided a platform for community members, local leaders and stakeholders to engage with both candidates and gain insight into their vision for the state’s future. The NWI Forum hosted both events at the Marina Shores Yacht Club in Portage.
During her Sept. 5 speech, Dr. McCormick emphasized her commitment to education reform, economic development, and enhancing public health service. During his Oct. 17 speech, Braun focused on his experience in business and government and discussed his plans for health care and education.
“It’s vital for our community to hear directly from candidates about their plans and priorities,” said Heather Ennis, Northwest Indiana Forum president and CEO, in a press release. “These events foster informed discussions that can shape the future of our Region and state.”
Both events included a Q&A session, allowing attendees to engage directly with each candidate.
