The Futurecast 2025 economic outlook tour, presented by the IU Kelley School of Business, is coming to Merrillville Nov.15.
The Kelley School of Business has been sharing its forecasts for the economies of the nation, Indiana and metro areas for over 50 years. Panelists from the school tour the state, providing insights into economic indicators such as GDP growth, inflation, interest rates and industry trends. Panelists discuss how the changing economic environment will affect business and public policy decisions in the coming year.
At their stop in Merrillville, the conversation will focus Lake, Porter, Jasper and Newton counties. Community members are invited to attend. Attendees will be able to network with community leaders and engage with experts.
This year’s speakers include:
Micah Pollak (local economic outlook), Indiana University Northwest associate professor of economics
Pollak serves as the director of the Center for Economic Education & Research, which provides training and education on economic issues.
Carol Rogers (Indiana economic outlook), Indiana Business Research Center director, Kelley School of Business
As director, Rogers is helping the research center move into its second century of service to Indiana. Since 1925, the center has studied the economy and people of the state, sharing its insights and data.
Brian Vander Schee (U.S./International outlook), Kelley School of Business, clinical associate professor of marketing
Vander Schee earned a doctor of business administration degree in marketing from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater and a Ph.D. in higher education administration from the University of Connecticut.
Russell Rhoads (financial market outlook), Indiana Business Research Center executive director, Kelley School of Business associate clinical professor of financial management
Rhoads earned a master’s degree in finance from the University of Memphis and a Ph.D. from Oklahoma State University.
Cynthia Roberts (moderator), Indiana University Northwest, School of Business and Economics dean
Roberts is a professor of organizational behavior and leadership. She is a registered organizational development consultant and has worked with numerous clients in health care, retail, banking and manufacturing.
