Samantha Bean was named director of marketing and communications for the Valparaiso-based Porter County Community Foundation.

In her new role, Bean will create, manage and evaluate the organization’s marketing strategies, with the goal of supporting the foundation’s vision.

“Her expertise and experience with graphic design, writing, public relations and project management will be an excellent fit for our mission to help individuals and organizations make a lasting difference in Porter County,” said Bill Higbie, president and CEO, in a press release.

Bean previously served as marketing manager for the Michigan City-based Lubeznik Center for the Arts. She led the nonprofit center through a rebrand during her tenure. Bean formerly worked at Franciscan Health as a senior graphic designer.

Bean is a graduate of Indiana University Bloomington. She earned degrees in journalism and communication.

Bean said her favorite aspect of becoming part of the PCCF is “making Porter County an even better place to live.”

The foundation was established in 1996. The organization collaborates with community members to create and manage permanent endowment funds. The PCCF has awarded more than $37 million in grants and scholarships to organizations and students in the community.
