GRIFFITH – The Town of Griffith has received the Main Street Award for Excellence in economic Development from the Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs.
The transformation of downtown Griffith over the past few months has involved new benches and landscaping as a way to make the downtown more inviting, a program to help business owners add new facades to their stores, new streets and lighting and activities to lure residents downtown.
Locally, the effort was headed by the Griffith Town Council and the Downtown Revitalization Committee.
