The South Bend Symphony Orchestra will ring in the holiday season with its annual Home for the Holidays performances at the Morris Performing Arts Center on Saturday, December 20 at 8:00 p.m. and Sunday, December 21 at 2:30 p.m. This family-friendly production, conducted by Maestro Tsung Yeh, features the full orchestra and the South Bend Festival Chorus, a collaboration of area church choirs. Acclaimed soprano Susan Nelson will also make a return appearance with the orchestra and Mayor Pete Buttigieg will join as narrator for The Sleigh Ride Story.
The program, based on a theme of “Sleigh Bells”, will include Anderson’s Sleigh Ride, Handel’s “Hallelujah” chorus from Messiah, sing-a-longs with familiar carols, and other holiday favorites. And “yes, Virginia,” there will be a Santa Claus.
