VALPARAISO – Save the Dunes and Valparaiso University are hosting a Green Infrastructure event at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 4, starting in Parking Lot 14 at VU.
The event includes a walking tour of Valparaiso University to view rain gardens and bioswales have been installed on the campus. The projects were designed to reduce and treat storm water runoff that will help protect Salt Creek.
The 49,573-acre Sale Creek watershed includes sections of Valparaiso, Portage, Chesterton, Porter, Burns Harbor, South Haven, Shorewood Forest and unincorporated Porter County.
