Purdue Northwest Women’s Association Kick-off TripHAMMOND and WESTVILLE – The Purdue Northwest Women’s Association (PNWA) will kick off its day trip season with an excursion to Chicago on Saturday, July 21 to see the 2016 Tony Award-winning musical, “The Color Purple.” Current and new members, male and female, are encouraged to register early as seats on the luxury bus are limited.

The Purdue Northwest Women’s Association (PNWA) is for all Purdue Northwest women and men. All people in our local communities who wish to belong are welcome too.

The trip commences at 7:15 a.m. with boarding in front of Schwarz Hall on the Westville Campus. Due to construction on the Hammond Campus, the exact location on campus for pick up and drop off will be provided to all participants several weeks before July 21. Ample parking will be available.

The outing includes a stop at Trader Joe’s, shopping on the Magnificent mile, time for lunch on one’s own and a ticket to the 2 p.m. matinee show at the historic Auditorium Theater in Chicago’s Loop. Approximate return times are 5:30 p.m. to the Hammond Campus and 6:15 p.m. to the Westville campus.

The cost is $90 (plus membership dues of $10), which includes expenses except lunch. For the comfort and ease of the group, assistance will be provided and package stowage available.  All trip participants must be members or join the PNWA in order to participate.

“Imagine spending a day in the shopping and entertainment center of the great city of Chicago, without the hassle of driving or paying for parking, and enjoying a hit show,” said Judy Jacobi, day trip chair. “Our arrangements make these superb cultural experiences extremely convenient and delightful!”

Becoming a PNWA member
Annual dues for new members are $15, but PNWA is offering a $5 reduced membership fee this year for those registering for the trip as well. Paid members will get a $5 discount in the cost of the trip.

To reserve a spot, make a check of $100 payable to the PNWA and send it to Elizabeth Bernel, PNWA, Schwarz Administration, Suite 60, 1401 S. U.S. Highway 421, Westville, IN 46391. For trip-related questions and reservations, contact Liz Bernel at 219-785-5719 or ebernel@pnw.edu.
