HAMMOND – Purdue University Calumet and its Department of Behavioral Sciences has developed an academic articulation agreement with Ivy Tech Community College.

The articulation, effective this fall, enables graduates of Ivy Tech’s Associate Degree in Early Childhood program to enter seamlessly into Purdue Calumet’s Bachelor of Arts in Human Development and Family Studies, Early Childhood Development specialization.

“We know that many who work in early childhood settings are eager to increase their knowledge and credentials in the field,” Purdue Calumet Coordinator of Early Childhood Programs and Associate Professor of Early Childhood Development Elsa K. Weber said. “Our baccalaureate degree program provides valuable education that can lead to advancement for those employed as child care professionals, case managers and service coordinators.”

The Purdue Calumet baccalaureate program offers broad multidisciplinary understanding for teachers and others interested in working with infants, young children and their families, according to Weber.
