VALPARAISO – Porter Regional Hospital recently completed the redesign and expansion of its Outpatient Laboratory at Glendale Medical Center, 1101 East Glendale Blvd.
The renovation places the new outpatient lab to the front of the building for easier access and more than doubles its square footage to better accommodate patients while reducing wait times. The new lab now features four patient draw rooms and new advanced testing capabilities and equipment.
Porter Regional Hospital’s Chief Operating Officer Brian Sinotte said the expansion and strategic relocation to the front of the medical center will help Porter better serve its increased patient demands for outpatient lab services. “Our lab services are dedicated to performing patient testing quickly and conveniently. Additionally, the new Glendale lab design provides a calm, relaxing environment which can help make for a more positive patient experience while getting tests done.”
Porter Regional Hospital operates six labs throughout its system that perform more than 1 million procedures each year. The menu of services includes approximately 900 lab tests as well as blood bank services. All blood and blood products are made available through the American Red Cross. Limited testing and complete phlebotomy services are performed on site at the various satellite labs.
