Notre Dame names John Gohsman vice president for informaton technology and chief information officer

John Gohsman is the new vice president for information technology and chief information officer at the University of Notre Dame.

John Gohsman was named vice president for information technology and chief information officer at the University of Notre Dame.

Gohsman, who most recently served as vice chancellor for information technology and chief information officer at Washington University in St. Louis, replaces Ron Kraemer whose retirement was announced in February.

Gohsman, originally from Vassar, Mich., has more than three decades of experience in the information technology field. He spent 30 years in IT at the University of Michigan before moving to Washington University.

Gohsman earned a bachelor’s degree in business data processing from Ferris State University in Big Rapids, Mich. His wife, Mary, also is an IT professional.

Gohsman will direct a staff of more than 250 people at Notre Dame and will oversee the university's information technology infrastructure.
