MUNSTER – Meteorologist Ginger Zee of NBC Channel 5 in Chicago will be the featured speaker for a fund raising dinner for the Cancer Resource Centre at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 17 at Briar Ridge Country Club in Schererville.
The luncheon centers on Zee’s career and uplifting, inspirational story. She was born in Los Angeles and raised in Western Michigan, and since she was a child has been fascinated in the weather. Zee studies meteorology at Valparaiso University and since graduation has worked at WLAV in Grand Rapids, Mich., WEYI in Flint, Mich., and WOOD TV in Grand Rapids.
Since September 2006, Zee has worked at NBC5 in Chicago and is also the station’s Green is University environmental reporter. She also is an adjunct professor at Valparaiso Indiana.
