LAPORTE – Indiana University Health LaPorte Hospital will offer a Spanish/English Medical Interpreters Course from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Saturdays, from Aug. 27 to Oct. 22. The class, designed for people interested in becoming a professional Spanish-English medical interpreter, will be held in Room B113 in the lower level of the hospital.
The course includes 80 hours of classroom training, practicum, pre- and post-tests, a midterm exam and final oral and written exams. Prerequisites include completion of a language proficiency and entry exam administered by the instructor.
