GRIFFITH – Lake Area United Way has announced an effort to provide affordable banking services and education for residents of Lake County.
At 3 p.m. on Wednesday, April 13, it will unveil plans for Bank on Northwest Indiana. Participating in the announcement will be Indiana State Treasurer Richard Mourdock; Angelisa M. Harris of the Chicago Regional Office of FDIC; Lou Martinez, president of Lake Area United Way; Dan Lowery, chairman, Lake Area United Way; David Bochnowski, chairman and CEO of Peoples Bank; Daryl Pomranke, president and COO of Citizens Financial Bank; Mike Schrage, president and CEO of Centier Bank; Brad Vosberg, regional sales manager for First Midwest Bank; and Gary Olund, executive director of Northwest Indiana Community Action.
