VPA Announces New Bike Hike EventSOUTH BEND – Venues Parks & Arts will host a new event, Bike & Hike. This event will take place on Saturday, February 17 from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. at Rum Village, located at 2626 S. Gertrude St. Participants are given the opportunity to hike the trails of Rum Village and learn the basics of mountain and fat tire biking with guided trail rides.

This event is free and open to all ages. Hikes begin every hour, starting at 11:15 a.m. Bike rides begin every half hour, starting at 11:30 a.m. In the Nature Center, a bike safety demo begins at 12:45 p.m. and Meet the Critters program begins at 1:45 p.m. and 2:45 p.m. There will also be hot chocolate, music, nature programs and more.

Venues Parks & Arts encourages interested participants to bring their own mountain/fat tire bikes as there are limited number of bikes with helmets available to rent. While bike rentals are free, they’re only available in adult sizes. All bike renters must be 18+, sign a waiver and wear a helmet. A photo ID is required to rent a bike.

Transpo, LimeBike, U93, NIMBA and Yellow Cat Café are partnering with Venues Parks & Arts for this event. LimeBikes will be available along Ewing Ave and in all the parking lots to ride to the event. Use code “BIKEANDHIKE” for 2 free rides on Saturday, February 17.
