MERRILLVILLE – NiSource Inc., the parent company for Northern Indiana Public Service Co., posted a second quarter profit of $39.5 million. The company said it posted gains in its natural gas distribution, transportation and storage units and in its electric segment.
The second quarter profit was up from $28.1 million one year ago. Revenue in the quarter was $500.4 million.
“NiSource delivered another quarter of solid financial and operational performance, punctuated by significant accomplishments involving nearly all aspects of our business plan,” said Robert Skaggs Jr., president and CEO.
The company also declared a second quarter dividend of 23 cents per share.
