NIRPC hosting series of informational sessions on 2050 Long-Range Plan

RNIRPCepresentatives from the Northwestern Indiana Regional Planning Commission will be available at various events around the Region the next few weeks to discuss its 2050 Long-Range Plan.

The plan is a strategy to examine how to best prepare the Region for the future, including where investments should be made for the betterment of Northwest Indiana. Investments may include future transportation needs, the environment, land use and economic development.

NIRPC representatives will be at these Region events:

  • Friday, Aug. 10, 5 p.m.-7 p.m., South Shore Summer Music Festival, Wolf Lake Pavilion, 2324 Calumet Ave., Hammond
  • Saturday, Aug. 11, 5 p.m.-7 p.m., South Shore Summer Music Festival, Peter G. Memorial Park, 217 Gregory St., Schererville
  • Sunday, Aug. 12, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Miller Beach Farmer's Market, intersection of South Lake Street and State Highway 12, Gary
  • Tuesday Aug. 14, 5 p.m.-9 p.m., Marquette Park Pavilion, Gary
  • Saturday Aug. 25, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., LaPorte Farmer's Market, corner of Monroe Street and Lincolnway Place, LaPorte
  • Tuesday Aug. 28, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., Valparaiso Farmer's Market, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., 63 Lafayette St., Valparaiso
  • Thursday Aug. 30, 3 p.m. to 7 p.m., New Durham European Market, north junction of State Highway 2 and State Highway 421, Westville
  • Saturday Sept. 1, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., Michigan City Farmer's Market, 8th Street and Washington Street, Michigan City
