LAPORTE – Indiana University Health La Porte Physicians After Hours Care has extended morning and weekend hours. Located at Founders’ Square, 1509 State St., new hours are Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Saturday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
After Hours Care is available if a primary care physician is out of the office, if unable to schedule a same-day appointment or unable to schedule an appointment after regular office hours. In addition, After Hours Care provides a more suitable alternative to Emergency Department care for less severe ailments.
The following types of illnesses and injuries are treated: allergy issues, asthma, bee stings, colds, cough, flu symptoms, lacerations, rashes, sprains, strains and urinary tract infections. Some blood work and other lab procedures may also be performed at the same location. Broken bones, chest pain and respiratory issues will be evaluated, but may require follow-up or further diagnosis at the Emergency Department of IU Health La Porte Hospital.
