Franciscan ExpressCare has opened its newest location at 101 W. 61st Ave. in Hobart.
Franciscan Health, which operates the facility, invested $1 million to acquire the property and rehabilitate the building, which also houses Franciscan WorkingWell occupational health services, providing businesses a range of healthcare services, from wellness and education to rehabilitation.
Franciscan ExpressCare in Hobart, which employs eight people, provides an alternative to patients who need medical care but don’t want to visit a hospital emergency room. The site allows patients with non-life threatening cases to be seen and diagnosed by a healthcare provider with no need for an appointment.
Medical staff can work with patients who may be dealing with a rash, sore throat or minor injury. Facility staff will treat minor injuries and illnesses and refer patients back to their doctor if follow-up care is needed.
Franciscan operates 14 ExpressCare locations, which includes seven in Northwest Indiana.
Franciscan ExpressCare in Hobart is open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
