Northwest Indiana Business News LogoSOUTH BEND — February's “Fire & Ice” themed First Fridays will have ice carvers – some featuring a fire element – and a special fireworks show that will include a choreographed River Lights presentation!

Also enjoy amazing Restaurant Week deals at 18 participating restaurants, Meet Me in the Gallery at the South Bend Museum of Art, live music, Latin dancing, and much more!

The evening will be enhanced with live ice carvings taking place from 4:00 – 7:00 pm in front of South Bend Chocolate Café, LaSalle Grill, Edible Arrangements, in Studebaker Plaza and in Key Bank Plaza. At 9:00 pm, fireworks will light the sky and can be best viewed from Colfax Bridge, in the Great Hall at the Century Center and on the Century Center Island (weather permitting).

For easy transportation, Transpo will be offering free shuttle rides throughout downtown. The shuttle will run at each stop every 15 minutes from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The shuttle rides will also include a free mini tour of downtown, as the Shuttle Tour Guide entertains riders with historical tidbits, fun facts, and info on First Friday activities and promotions.

Barnaby’s (713 E. Jefferson Blvd.) First Saturday special with $4 pints and any large 2 topping pizza, an order of breadsticks, and a pitcher of pop (or a 2 liter on carry out orders) for only $19.95 plus tax.

DTSB First Fridays features over 35 participating businesses and takes place from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. on the first Friday of every month, year-round. Participating businesses remain open or host special events at a free or reduced rate. Upcoming 2018 First Friday dates include March 2nd, April 6th and May 4th. First Fridays are sponsored by Montessori Academy Edison Lakes, Purdue Polytech, The LaSalle, U93, and Transpo.
